Yes!Currently, Medicare beneficiaries who are not officially admitted to a hospital may be classified under “Observation Status,” which is treated as an outpatient procedure for billing purposes. So it would not be covered under Medicare Part A, and any skilled nursing care subsequently needed would not be covered.There is legislation in the senate to fix this!!Please urge your senators to vote for this bill.
